DP RUTO (COURTESY)
The ghosts of illegal occupation of an Eldoret peasant farmer’s piece of land has nightmarishly stormed back to haunt William Ruto following the death of the poor farmer.
In 2013, the DP was ordered to pay Mr. Muteshi KSh5 million and vacate the 100-acre farm in Uasin Gishu that he had illegally occupied after the farmer fled for his safety during the 2007/08 post-election violence. Reports affirm that Muteshi never returned to his farm, and his health seriously deteriorated as the case went on.
Adrian Muteshi unfortunately succumbed on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. His obituary was immediately published on one of the local dailies…
“It is with a deep sense of gratitude to say farewell to our beloved Adrian …who passed away in Nairobi,” read an obituary in one of the local daily.
Upon the publication, concerned Kenyans mourned him while also launching incessant attacks on DP Ruto, who they accused of pushing the farmer to his early grave.
It’s still unclear whether the late farmer was paid for illegal occupation of his land owing to the fact that he won the case against the Deputy president.
