The fact that his death was immediately confirmed by his fellow Gospel Musician Daddy Owen, made it painfully true to his fans.

MOMENTS BEFORE HIS DEATH

The cause of his death is still not yet officially communicated by the police. However, Music Producer Luva who had spent the Friday night with the artiste recording music at Nairobi Records, owned by legendary producer Mash Mjukuu said that Dennis looked very uneasy that night. The Nairobi Records producer revealed that he even asked Papa Dennis if he was okay and papa said he was okay.

DEPRESSED

“He did not show any sign that he was having a problem although he looked uneasy.” He said
Witnesses say Papa was in a studio session at Nairobi Records, owned by legendary producer Mash Mjukuu, when he stormed out of the room and later reported to have fell from the 4th floor of the Ngara building and died immediately. Insiders say that the troubled artist had picked his phone and a charger in the middle of the session and left, telling his twin brother and the producer that they were giving him a hard time.

Papa Dennis was also reported to be having issues with his girlfriend of two years who acts in a local television series pointing to the fact that he was a depressed man.

FINANCIAL PROBLEMS

“His former landlord had locked him out of his Jamhuri estate house and the couple, who had housed him briefly, was violent to him. That is when Mjukuu, the owner of the studio at Kirima House on Thika road, asked him to stay in the studio to rehabilitate him,” a close relative told local media.
A rare disclosure from an artiste who was a close friend to the late Papa Dennis Bro Mfalme has said that the late had serious depression.
“WE RECORDED A SONG CALLED BOBO LATE LAST YEAR AND WE WERE TO DO A VIDEO SHOOT AROUND NOVEMBER,” BRO MFALME
Unfortunately, while they planned to travel for the video shoot, Papa Dennis had switched off his phone claiming that he badly needed Sh 20,000.

“BUT UNFORTUNATELY AS WE WERE PLANNING TO TRAVEL PAPA DENNIS SWITCHED OFF THE PHONE AS HE CLAIMED HE WANTED KSH 20,000 SO THAT HE WOULD SORT OUT SOME STUFF OF WHICH WE DIDNT UNDERSTAND.” Mfalme told a local media.
Bro Mfalme and his crew were forced to shoot one video leaving out the one song he collaborated with Papa Dennis.
He also revealed that Papa Dennis had a candid conversation with another fellow artiste known as Jay Star,

“HE CALLED JAYSTAR THAT HE WANTED SOME LITTLE CHANGE (1K) BUT SINCE TIME WAS NOT ON OUR SIDE, WE LEFT THE ISSUE OUT. BECAUSE WE COULDN’T HANDLE HIS CURRENT STATE OF MIND PROPERLY AND WITH CARE. TRUTH IS, HE WAS BROKE AND UNDERGOING SERIOUS DEPRESSION.”

The Gospel singer was orphaned at a tender age. He knew death from a very young age. Papa’s mum died in 2006 leaving them to struggle in poverty. He had severally revealed that were it not for Jimmy Gait whom he did the “MAKEKE” collabo, he wouldn’t be known.
