Former Sofapaka midfielder Wisdom Naya dies after a long battle with cancer, his family has confirmed.
Naya born and raised in Trans Nzoia county also played for St Anthony’s Boys team and was signed to Sofapaka after being spotted in the coca-cola under 18 cup of 2018.
He had been battling a cancerous condition called Sarcoma; a type of cancer that affects the bones.
His left leg was amputated in India earlier this year and he was on a recovery path.
“He had greatly improved and I was hoping he would get back on his feet. His death is a huge blow to us. Let him rest in peace,” Naya’s father Edward Onyango said.
Condolences are pouring in from the sports fraternity in Trans Nzoia and Kenya at large over the passing of the 19-year-old youngster.
We send our condolences to family, friends and sports fraternity
