Kenya has recorded its first Corona Virus death on March 26, 2020. According to Kenya’s health Ministry’s announcement, the 66 year old jetted into the country on March 13, 2020 from South Africa via Swaziland.
“The man, who was suffering from diabetes, had arrived in the country on March 13 from South Africa via Swaziland,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement.
The late has been identified by sources known to Maisha TV as Engineer Mauruce Barasa Namiinda. He is one of the patients who tested positive for the novel corona virus (Covid-19) in Kenya and died at the Aga Khan Hospital intensive care unit on Thursday afternoon.
The government earlier announced that the number of coronavirus cases had risen to 31 after three more patients tested positive for COVID-19.
In an exclusive revelation to Maisha TV News Desk, the late, who hails from Kimalewa village in Kabuchai Constituency- Bungoma, and a home on 100 Acres piece of Land in Cherengany, Kitale, Trans-Nzoia County was the Director of GIBB International Ltd (formerly Sir Alexander GIBB & Partners, Africa), a civil engineering company that has its Headquarters in Nairobi.

It is reported that at least six family members of the deceased have been quarantined after the government ordered for the move following their close interaction with the late.
Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, in a presser, said the three new cases are all Kenyan women aged between 30 and 61 years two from Kilifi County while the other is from Nairobi.
