SA Kolanya Girls Secondary School is a prominent girls’ institution located in the western region of Kenya. The school is situated in the Busia County, a region known for its rich cultural heritage and educational development.

In an interview with Maisha TV the principal said,”We have 60 teachers at the moment 41 TSC employed 19 are B.O.M emplyed our school is registered as six streams though it is swollen so we are opening our doors to seven streams our girls are good girls they are hard working they are excellent the teachers are very hardworking and focused we have a team of non teaching staff who are also hardworking and focused.”

The school boasts modern infrastructure, including well-maintained classrooms, science laboratories, a computer lab, and a library that offers a wide range of learning resources. The school’s sports facilities and extracurricular activities programs also provide students with a well-rounded education, helping them develop skills in sports, arts, music, and leadership.

The school admirable academic reports continue to register an upword trend where studnts are not only taught academics but also lifeskills.

“You can be sure that when you meet kolanya girls are not just ordiary girls are girls of quality they are girls that are mentored ,girls that are well trained in character you can be sure that when they are out of school they can fit in any work environment because we are nurturing them.” The school principal said.

Under the leadership of Madam Tabitha Okama the Chief principal the school did well in the 2024 KCSE, where over 87% of students were eligible for direct university entry. SA Kolanya Girls Secondary School has consistently ranked among the top performing schools in the region

In addition to academics, the school encourages students to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, drama, music, and cultural clubs.
