Her pictures went viral after she was captured being roughed up by police officers for attempting to reach CS Fred Matiang’i.
Identified as Christine, the woman found herself in trouble on Wednesday, September 8, after she set out to reach the Interior cabinet secretary who was boarding his chopper.
Kenyans have been treated to suchlike stunts in the past by clout chasing people. However, according to her, she was trying to reach the CS to brief him on the state of security in her area, but the officers stopped her after they misunderstood her intentions.
“The police blocked me because I had some information I wanted to share with the CS that would help our people. The area of Bobasi has had issues with the police officers, we have asked the commander to replace the officers to no avail. Theft and other forms of robberies have been on the rise while the officers are watching,” she said.
The mother of two, who is also a graduate in sign language, said the resident officers had been collaborating with criminals to terrorise the locals, and that was the message she wanted to share with Matiang’i.
While many presumed she pulled the stunt for clout and cash, Christine insisted that it wasn’t her case.
“I did not need money because CS Matiang’i knows me. He knows me very well. If it was about money, then I did not have to approach him there. He knows how he would help me, or I would have written him a message on his phone,” said Christine.
