Maliera Boys High school Senior Principal Jared Ooko Opondo
Since his appointment in 2020, Senior Principal Jared Ooko Opondo has significantly transformed Maliera Boys High School, marking the fifth year of his leadership.
Under his guidance, the school has improved its academic performance and discipline, addressing previous challenges related to student behavior and drug abuse.
With the support of various stakeholders, the institution has adopted a renewed focus on academics,
employing 23 full-time teachers alongside additional staff from the Board of Management to effectively manage a student population exceeding 1,000.
The school’s performance has notably progressed from a 4.0 average in 2020 to achieving a commendable 92.85% university admission rate in 2024, securing the second position in the Siaya region.
The principal attributes this success to the implementation of the school’s four pillars, with the director of studies and deputy principal emphasizing the critical role of discipline in student achievement.
They collectively expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their commitment to enhancing Maliera Boys High School’s academic standing, highlighting the importance of syllabus coverage and curriculum implementation in driving these results.
The principal also encouraged parents to enroll their children at Maliera Boys High School to witness the positive outcomes of this dedication.
