Nairobi, Kenya – A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Nairobi’s Huruma neighborhood after police discovered human body parts in a bag he was carrying. The shocking discovery was made during a routine patrol near Kelly Towers at approximately 5:00 AM on January 21, 2025.
Police identified the suspect as John Kiama Wambua. Following the gruesome discovery, Wambua allegedly confessed that the remains belonged to his wife, 19-year-old Joy Fridah Munani. He then reportedly led officers to his residence where more dismembered body parts were found hidden under the bed.
A search of the scene also yielded crucial evidence, including a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon. Additionally, female clothing, thought to belong to the victim, was recovered, along with bloodstains covering the floor of the residence.
The victim’s remains have been transported to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination. While the motive for the horrific crime remains unknown, Wambua has been taken into police custody. The case is currently under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Starehe and is documented as CR 126/12/2025. The case is now pending before the court.
