Lawrence Warunge, 22 year old young man who has admitted to the murder of his parents, two siblings and a farmhand is in custody after being traced via phone signal to Naivasha.
Lawrence had described his parents to police as “satanic and killers” and revealed that he had planned the murder for about three months.
Inspired by the psychopathic assassin Villanelle, real name Jodie Comer, in a British dark comedy-drama spy thriller TV series, Killing Eve, Lawrence Simon Warunge had planned to murder all his family members on Saturday January 2.
Beforehand, the young blood-thirsty killer had told his girlfriend that there was an errand he wanted to do that would make them live in tranquility, for the rest of their lives.
Through the deadly movies he persisted to watch, he began to practice how to kill, and commit heinous murderous acts and cleaning evidence.
Police investigation has revealed bizzare actions regarding how the lad massacred his blood family members.
The murderous attempts were aborted three times with the second last planned for January 2, staged and carried out perfectly.
That Saturday, his girlfriend refused to drink and smoke Marijuana even after he tried several times to get her agree. Lawrence expected his girl to pass out afterwards giving him space to sneak to his rural home and butcher his family members and come back.
He had hoped to use the girlfriend as an alibi after murdering his family using carbon monoxide.
Detectives from the Homicide and the Crime Scene Investigations Units at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Saturday recovered important exhibits that has unravelled the multiple-victim homicide.
with all evidences pinned to the homicidal psycho-lad, the authority is now settling down to establish the motive.
The suspect had claimed that he felt sidelined and abandoned by his parents, and that his younger siblings were also party to the acts of his parents.
A senior detective who spoke to Maisha TV said, “He claimed that he felt that the parents were out to kill him,”
3 KILLERS
Prior to the unraveling of crucial evidence, it was suspected that there were three killers involved in the killing, however, the evidence had confirmed that the suspect was alone. His bloody shoes got soaked in blood. He removed them and walked in the house in his socks. He would later put on the shoes which were recovered in Mai Mahiu before finally putting on a woman’s shoes. He bought the lady’s shoes in Thika.
Warunge had asked his girlfriend to buy for him a knife in Thika. The nine-inch knife, with a metallic handle, was among the exhibits recovered on Saturday and suspected to be used in killing and slitting throats of his kin.
Autopsy of the slain victims will be conducted tomorrow at Kenyatta University mortuary where detectives are expected to extract further evidential material for toxicology and DNA samples, among others.
