Investor from Rwanda, Desire Muhinyuza, has been declared the rightful owner of a business worth 400 million shillings.
This decision was made by Judge Alfred Mabeya in a case where businessman Koome Kirimi claimed to be the owner of the company, Stay Online Limited.
Judge Mabeya stated that Koome committed fraud by failing to provide the necessary ownership documents. Furthermore, Mabeya mentioned that all the funds for starting the business came from Rwanda through Desire.
Desire told the court that he trusted Koome after being told that he came from a prestigious family and had the ability to connect him with influential people. He also stated that he did not have the necessary documents to open the company in Kenya, thus having to use Koome as an agent for the company.
In October, Koome was brought to court and charged with defrauding Desire. He denied the charges and was released on bail.
