Rwandese coach Gervais Hakizamana, who tragically passed away alongside World Marathon record holder Kelvin Kiptum, has undergone a postmortem examination.
The procedure was conducted by a team of pathologists led by Dr Benson Macharia, with the presence of DCI officers at the hospital morgue.
Dr Macharia confirmed that the postmortem had been concluded, but due to the family’s wishes, he refrained from disclosing any further details.
“In such circumstances, the family’s concerns take precedence, and we respect their decision. They have requested that I refrain from making any statements to the media,” stated Dr Macharia.
Family members who were present also chose not to provide any comments. Following the examination, the body will be transported to Nairobi and subsequently to Kigali, Rwanda, where the family will arrange for the burial.
