By Bushebi Junior, BOOK: Living The Life You Want
Panic and fear struck a group of Jewish spies sent to explore a wealthy real estate they were later to possess. They saw one of the syrupiest, beautiful and rich land. However, as soon as they saw giants, they swiftly forgot the plenty. They feared!
Through their thoughts, they watched giants killing them; they overwhelmingly felt weak and lesser like grasshoppers. When you initiate a thought of any nature, you initiate its feeling.
T.L Osborn in his book how to enjoy plenty perfectly puts it,
“The overwhelming majority took one look at that wealthy land and fled for their lives.
They THOUGHT and said, “It is too good to be true. This land of milk and honey cannot be for us. Giants are there. We saw them. We FELT like grasshoppers. They can destroy us all.”
All except two-Joshua and Caleb could not stomach such timid thoughts and feelings. (Emphasis mine)
Why would panic and fear assault men of valor? The answer was on their minds. They feared. Fear is caused by an untruthful thought. It’s a product of the dishonest mentality. They were held hostage by their own pictures that they created through their imaginations. They clouded their heads with failure, death, fear, and doubt because they couldn’t see the “hows.” The men of valor couldn’t see the means of achieving their dreams. They failed to control their thoughts.
Our belief systems formulate our foundations for success. Unless your belief system about success, riches or blessings is upheld, challenged or improved, don’t expect real changes in your life.
Before I continue, we need to understand another important factor of life. You might have been strongly conformed to an attitude of hopelessness, a stronghold of ignorance or a foundation of bondage by natural circumstances. You followed the crowd of poor travelers headed to poorness.
It might be that you come from a family bloodline of poor grandparents who passed on their beliefs to your generation. Nobody in your household has ever been successful at anything in life. I fully believe that, that should not control you for the rest of your life. There’s nothing as powerful as a changed mind!
I once lived in a county in Kenya where the attitude was, if you are rich, you used illegal means. No one believed having a lot of money was POSSIBLE! Cars were a status of the elderly alone. However the same cars were timeworn local used locomotives.
Owning a sleek car at twenty years was unthinkable. Being a millionaire at twenty five years was absurd. It was proof that riches will destroy you. Everyone would impatiently wait for your destruction in count down mode. Owning a multimillion business at thirty years was downcast. In fact, parents would viciously almost curse you if you chose to start a company and not to be an employed professor!
The belief system was, “Go get a job!” instead of, “Now create jobs!”
This attitude had a strong hold on young people. The belief system jam-packed their subconscious minds with unfamiliar cryptic devastating power. They became possessed with fear of failure. They feared owning anything. They thought that they will die if they did. Many of them became educated slaves, career apprentices, dedicated to working for other people. Many pass away with their neat titles and papers. They owned no banks, no companies, lands, schools, chain supermarkets, hotels, and media companies. They produced nothing, manufactured nothing, and shunned businesses.
One young man whom I talked to, got so scared of going into a government office to register a company. He literally shivered when we got to the entrance of the office that I had to give up the task lest he fainted. He was sweating profusely. He however went ahead and bought a cell phone to chat with friends on social media. I think he might have posted something like. “What’s up ya’ll #getrichordietrying”
Why would you be frightened by the process? You fear an unknown “thing.” Perhaps something tells you that you are going to breathe your last breath in there.
You just laid down your arms to the fear of adding value to your lands, investing, becoming an employer, or having a lot of money.
The cell phone was worth more than the business registration fee plus venture capital of the small business he was to start.
Trapped by the enslaving unfortunate belief system, he believed that, that was the obligation of “others”. All he wanted was to study, get good grades, get a job and buy another cell phone!
I spoke to one old man watching over a three storeyed rental building. The construction sits on a land he once owned and sold. He told me that his son got a degree, stays in the city, and works for the bank. I’d somewhat listen to music than to such sorry statement. I want to hear them say that their son earned a degree, lives in the city and OWNS the bank!
For over fifty years, that has been the belief system. To date, young men sell land to purchase anything they want such as cut-rate motorcycles. When the money is more, they might add a second wife.
Where did they get the belief system? From their parents, uncles, and aunties of course! How do you trade an asset, your capital to purchase a liability? For how long will you hawk your education to buy cheap employment for life? You see, that’s not a demon, it’s a belief system. It is an attitude.
Some people were naturally born and raised in punitive conditions. Some live in lack of knowledge of the science, art, and intelligence of global human development. They don’t know the systems governing material and non-material wealth. They don’t know how to work with financial laws. They have never known freedom, and have been under strenuous bureaucracies.
Others come from broken family unit, marriages, and a background of poor psychology. They don’t have insight of wealth and multiplication of material and nonmaterial wealth.
You see, poverty and failure are known as a belief system which has a strong grip on your mind. It is a collection of thoughts, opinions, declarations, and experiences living in your head. You developed them from the time you were born from people and environment around you.
It tells you to play safe. It places a limit to your growth. It follows you like a slave master telling you, “You see that goal, you can by no means achieve it. You ain’t worth it. Look at you, you ain’t qualified. It’s against your beliefs. You are too young or too old. You are dumb!”
You cannot merely pray it away! You cannot “abracadabra” it away. Get up! Stop crying.
Quit becoming cantankerous. Desist from blaming people or things.
To break it, trundle a new belief system. Format your mind! Install and run a new updated operating system on your mind. Another set of thoughts, statements, and experiences. Suffice to say, man is a product of his own belief system.
Self-made millionaires don’t become tycoons by stumbling into money, just as financial fools don’t become failures by stumbling into poorness. Men are the direct result of the intelligent financial action plans or unwise financial action plan that evolve from a belief system.
If you accept as true that “rich people got rich by selling popcorn” your actions will reflect that belief.
Beliefs are powerful dominant mechanisms that drive action, whether true or not.
Most material wealth as well as money are effected through mere end to end mankind designs. God does not print dollars or shillings notes. He doesn’t mint coins or make computers utilized by banks. All these as well as banks and trade policies are human concepts.
Business has been in existence millions of years before some of the most complex material exchange schemes were created. The systems do not invent your future; you need to comprehend that they are not in themselves the fundamental of your life. You might need them in relation to your vision and dream and physical locations since they might need to support your future. They shouldn’t be used as a blind justification to stay poor in life.
