James Chanji popularly known as ‘Mshamba’ or ‘T for tominic’ is one of the best comedians Kenya has ever produced.
His popular comedy series “MSHAMBA” is one of the biggest hits in the country aired on KTN and other syndicate TV partners such as Maisha Magic.
The funnyman attended Township Primary School and later joined St Augustine Primary School from classes 4-8, both in Busia county. He went on to attend a seminary school in Kiserian to study priesthood but quit after a year. After this shortlived stint with priesthood, the comedian joined Aga Khan High School. After his O-levels, he studied a course in Business Administration and Mass Communication at Air Travel and Tours College.
His coined word “What about” is synonymous with his style of art.
In the comedy series Mshamba, He arrives in the city as a naive “Born villager” with nothing but hope of making it big in the metropolitan city. This move to relocate to Nairobi was inspired by the father of his lover ‘Cele’ who thinks his current job as a posho mill attendant in the village is not good enough. However, the city under the sun proves to be an unbreakable ballast and not the city of opportunities as perceived by some. ‘Mshamba’ didn’t dissapoint in this comedy series.
The comedian has announced his Youtube channel is now loaded with enough content to entertain his fans.
Taking to his facebook account, Mshamba said,
“WHAT ABOUT!…..asante sana kwa kuwa shabiki wa mshamba. I humbly request you to subscribe to my youtube channel Mshamba official TV…i have uploaded over 150 episodes of mshamba series for you to enjoy. Thank you very much”
